Careful hands, protected privacy, current permission
The app is a general planning aid. Capable adults remain responsible for supervision, equipment instructions, material decisions, facility rules, safeguarding, and seeking qualified help.
Needles, scissors, cutters, and machines
Capable adults control needles, pins, seam rippers, scissors, rotary cutters, sewing machines, irons, cords, and hot surfaces. Prepare a stable, well-lit work surface; isolate the sharps and heat zone; follow manufacturer guidance; count tools before and after; and stop using damaged equipment.
Beads and small parts
Beads, findings, closures, loose trim, broken parts, needles, and cutters can present choking, ingestion, puncture, and loose-part hazards. Use lidded trays, restrict the station, keep children and pets away, remove damaged pieces, count tools, and require a second loose-part review.
Adult workshop supervision
The app is built for adult volunteer planning. It does not certify a volunteer, supervise a participant, determine age suitability, verify equipment, or replace an experienced coordinator. Use clear adult roles, accessible paths, seated and standing options, quiet breaks, cleanup responsibilities, and an incident plan appropriate to the venue.
Family and infant privacy
Do not enter or export names, contact information, pregnancy or loss history, diagnoses, hospital records, family stories, photographs, dates, room details, medical information, or any identifying recipient information. The app's anonymous material fields are intentionally limited.
Compassionate communication
Listen without comparison, follow the language and preferences a family or coordinator shares, do not request a story or acknowledgment, avoid promises about healing or meaning, and respect a quiet response or declined offer. Volunteer service does not make a user a counselor or medical professional.
Medical, grief, and emergency limits
Threads of Comfort does not offer grief counseling, diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, crisis monitoring, or emergency response. It does not notify staff or summon help. For medical or urgent concerns, contact qualified local services using a separate trusted channel.
Hospital and facility boundaries
The app contains no live hospital directory and does not establish a relationship with any facility. Before travel, contact the intended organization or facility, confirm current permission and handoff method, follow access and infection-control rules, protect parcels, and do not enter restricted areas without authorization.
Acceptance and inventory limits
Checklist completion does not certify quality or acceptance. The app does not inspect items, manage inventory, process donations, generate receipts, reserve supplies, assign recipients, or guarantee that a parcel is needed or will be accepted.
